Welcome to a new and exciting year in Science. My name is Dani DiPietro and I am your 7th grade science teacher for this school year. Attached is a copy of the Science Informational letter about 7th Grade. Please be sure a copy is signed and attached in your lab notebook. If you have lost this, reprint a new one and attach it in your lab notebook! - 28 February - 6 March

1. Due Thursday, March 3rd - Work & Power Math Problems worksheet. Be sure to use formula-plug-chug to do these problems. I know you will have at least tried to solve them when I can see the formula written down!
2. Due Friday, March 4th - Design a Superhero Project. Make sure you have both the printed out character in color and your accompanying story where your superhero saves the day. See directions and rubric below. Link is there if you have lost your character. If you are turning in a rough copy, it needs to be emailed to Ms. D. by Thursday morning! - 7 March - 13 March

On Tuesday, March 15th you will be given 1 hour to finish putting your Simple Machines Presentation together. The last 1/2 and hour of class we will start presenting. Directions & rubric are below. 1. Tuesday, March 29th - Quiz - Be sure to study your notes on Work & Power from the textbook, and make sure you can do the math problems (there is a practice sheet below), be sure to understand the information on Simple Machines (use the notes from people's presentations and/or the information in the book!) Use pages 108 - 119 & 124 - 135 in your textbook to help you study! There will be a review session during lunch on Monday. March 28th!
2. Due Thursday, March 31st by class - Your reflection post to the blog -

- Tell me how you feel you improved as a scribe writer and what you feel you need to do to improve even further for the last quarter
- Tell me the benefits of using a class blog are and what you do not like about this project
- Lastly, I would like you to email the link of the blog to one person outside of this school community (no parents, siblings if they are at AISZ or friends at AISZ or anyone already following the blog) for them to show them what you are working on in science - please CC me on this email so I know you did it!

I am looking for honesty, but please be careful about being too harsh. You and I will be the only ones reading what you have written.

b. Please give one compliment about each team member's work and give one criticism about each team member's work. This needs to be done for every team member.

3. Due Tuesday, May 31st - Cell Project - be sure to pay close attention to the directions as this is a model of the organelles of a cell and WHAT THEY DO, NOT WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE!!!! Directions and rubric are below!
4. Friday, June 3rd - Cell Quiz!!!! Last major grade of the year! Study the Cell Basic Notes (MRS. GREN, Cell Theory, basics about cells); Parts of an animal cell vs. plant cell (especially the Venn Diagram); smallest to biggest organization; parts of a microscope; and how a microscope works. There will be a review session during lunch for anyone who comes. Good Luck!

Thursday, June 9th - Samobor Pool Party - 8am - 3pm (800 - 1500). Make sure to bring a towel and change of dry clothes. There is a beach volleyball court, soccer field, pool, basketball court, and a snack bar with food available. Bring your own packed lunch or money to buy lunch at the snack bar!
Friday, June 10th - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!! Noon dismissal!
