The IB Psychology course is a two-year program designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of human behavior and of mental processes, as well as the various approaches to psychology. The research methodology used by psychologists is examined in detail as are the subfields of psychology.

This Year 1/Grade 11 - IB Psychology course examines the interaction of biological, cognitive, and sociocultural influences on human behavior, thereby adopting an integrative approach. Students undertaking the course can expect to develop an understanding of how psychological knowledge is generated, developed and applied. This will allow them to have a greater understanding of themselves and appreciate the diversity of human behavior. The ethical concerns raised by the methodology and application of psychological research are also key considerations of the IB psychology course of study.
